Evan Mirts

Evan has been dancing Lindyhop for over eight years and has taught in Cham-bana and at regional workshops since 2013. He first fell in love with vintage solo jazz in 2010 working in the Netherlands where the sun doesn’t set until 11:00PM in the summer, but nobody has any fun after six. During weeks of practice and almost certainly annoying his neighbors, Evan learned from such living legends as Jon Tigert, Nathan Bugh, and Sharon Davis via YouTube (before actually learning from them back in the USA). Since then, he has competed and placed in solo jazz and Charleston competitions from Indiana to Colorado, developing a style rooted in clean-cut movement tailored to the ideas of the musical moment. Lindyhop and solo jazz have always been expressions of joy through music, and Evan’s #1 goal on the floor is make his partners smile and his audience laugh.
